As part of the ZHdK Summer School, we are offering a workshop where we trace the development of environmental posters up to today's sustainability communication. Through creating our own small climate campaign, involving painting, cutting, and pasting, we will explore how text and images can be used for targeted communication and how they can have a sustainable impact. In the Farm to Table research project, ZHdK, ZHAW, and ZFV tested over four weeks how regional and climate-friendly food can be implemented in the canteen at Toni-Areal. The results show that sustainability and enjoyment are not mutually exclusive. The minors are designed to provide students with knowledge and skills in the areas of sustainability and ecology, to build on collaborative practice and to create interfaces with their own discipline and work. Students learn to explore topics, methods and practices of sustainability, to test them on concrete examples and to combine them with artistic and creative approaches.
